Dawn Brown


Interests/Hobbies: Running, reading, bike riding, spending time with friends and family, watching movies with my daughter, listening to country music, drinking tea, and providing quality trainings.

Bio: Marian Wright Edelman said "If we don't stand up for children, then we don't stand for much." I believe all children possess the qualities to do amazing things. I believe we are representations of our most dominant thought and possess within us the power to effectively change communities – large and small. Feel free to stop by and say hello. We love visitors.

Selina Eadie

Interests/Hobbies: Reading, playing lacrosse, spending time with my younger sisters, sarcastic conversations/people, trying new food, exploring the Berkeley area.

Bio: I feel lucky every day for having the opportunity to live in such a dynamic area and to work with all of the wonderful people involved with YSP. After studying Law & Society at UCSB and working with children's programs for a number of years, I feel incredibly fortunate that YSP encompasses all of my interests in its mission to promote educational change!

Rachel Larson


Interests/Hobbies: Exploring Berkeley and the Bay Area, playing/watching sports, pop culture/current events, reading, laughing until my stomach hurts, country music, skiing/snowboarding and meeting new people!

Bio: I was born and raised just outside Minneapolis, Minnesota and decided to make the long journey out to Berkeley to help make a difference in a community, a school and in our youth. I feel very fortunate to be a part of the Willard community. I love coming to YSP each morning knowing that I am going to see our amazing mentors, mentees and Willard staff.

Meghan Hunt

Major: Development Studies with a Spanish minor, 2010

Interests/Hobbies: Traveling, Knitting, Eating, Piranha Fishing, Gardening/Farming, Running, Writing, Politics, Talking, Going on Adventures.

Bio: I believe in never letting opportunities pass you by, growing healthy food on your balcony, laughing and enjoying life, working with your friends and neighbors to create a better world, and the power of students to change lives. I have been with YSP for three and a half years and I wouldn’t still be here if I didn’t sincerely believe in the power of the program and all of our wonderful mentors, mentees, and community supporters.

Team Leaders

Team Leaders are mentors who want to take a more active role in YSP. They apply for the position at the end of the school year and are the liaisons between mentors and office staff. Their role is to offer support to their team of mentors as well as plan events, facilitate meetings, and help run the program in general.
